San Jose State University is a Division I NCAA Athletics program. Their training facilities were in need of an upgrade and our team designed a Award Winning Pre-Engineered Steel Building to provide the SJSU Athletes with a state-of-the-art Weight training, Nutrition Center, Physical Therapy and Coaching Offices. The roughly 20,000sf facility sits on the South Campus adjacent to most of the athletic training fields and Spartan Stadium. This building is home to several of the University’s sports programs and is Modern structure of steel, concrete block and glass that connects indoor & outdoor training spaces. The practice fields for football, soccer, field hockey, baseball, softball, track & field & golf are all immediately adjacent to the Koret Center.
The Koret Center sits adjacent to two other projects that Jeff Current designed: the Simpkins Field House (1990 – locker rooms, athletic training, team dining & coaches offices) and the large stone base for the Bronze Spartan Warrior statue (2008 by Artist Susan Geissler). All of these projects have aided SJSU in attracting world-class athletes to their sports program.
